Position profile

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Marketing leads the development and delivery of the company’s lead generation efforts and works in collaboration with the sales and service teams to provide them with effective tools and support to improve customer experiences and conversions. With a strong focus on key business metrics, such as traffic, site engagement and conversions, the VP Marketing is a data-driven strategic catalyst for the organization, helping lead new business growth and profitability.

Detailed responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a market analysis for the industry. In conjunction with internal parties, develop a methodology to ensure that the organization can identify, assess and measure evolving market segments and the competitive landscape.
  • Drive demand generation programs to increase traffic and engagement with new prospective customers by leading a team of digital marketing professionals and working in conjunction with the product, sales and service teams. Define programs, target audiences, personas, messages and content for effective and strategic lead generation.
  • Build sales tools that reinforce compelling value propositions and help go-to-market resources effectively position the company and its offerings. Develop customer-oriented messaging that accelerate the sales cycle and improve repeat business.
  • Actively collaborate with online and off-line partners and agencies in the area of public relations, creative, media, content and events. Act as a spokesperson for the organization.
  • Manage the company’s online and offline marketing budget. Leverage the use of marketing analytics to provide insights and make recommendations to reach the customer effectively through data-driven ROI analysis.

  • Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven business acumen with ability to think, plan and act strategically with a track record in managing multiple projects often competing priorities and tasks objectives.
  • Team player with ability to influence and persuade others to align according to a shared objective.
  • Takes ownership and accepts responsibility for the outcome of their activities, projects and the success of the Company.
  • Able to effectively express information verbally, visually and in writing in a manner appropriate to the needs of the audience.
  • Tendency to organize self and others effectively to achieve goals – plans ahead and has a structured approach to time management and prioritized objectives.
  • Able to identify and utilize a systematic approach to determine root cause and resolution of problems.
  • 10+ years’ in a B2B and/or B2C internet related industry with proven track record in the area of demand generation, research management and analytics.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English, French a plus).
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally through collaboration with sales and service teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey / explain complex data in a simple and easy to understand way.
  • Independent - self motivated.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business degree, MBA a plus.
