Job Summary

The Senior Specialist, Communications is responsible for the development and execution of Bath Fitter corporate and consumer communications. This role helps support the Director of Communications and OD on communication strategy, change management, culture and brand alignment.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Communication Director to develop and implement internal and external communication strategy that supports Bath Fitter’s business objectives;
  • Write, edit and produce compelling materials that are relevant to the intended audience;
  • Contribute to, including editing of, the development of corporate memos, articles, newsletters, videos, intranet content, script writing, web writing; and podcast production;
  • Lead quarterly corporate-wide virtual updates;
  • Ensure all communications are aligned with our culture, brand, mission, vision and values;
  • Lead the development of a crisis communication strategy;
  • Prepare communication plans for business projects;
  • Identify and recommend PR strategy, write press releases, manage press release distribution and provide summaries of press engagement and reach;.
  • Act as the Bath Fitter spokesperson in Public Relations;
  • Ensure a high standard of written French standards across Bath Fitter and manage translation invoices;
  • Collaborate in the organization of webinars and corporate events, such as annual meetings and bbqs;
  • Produce change management plans and lead the change management of projects;
  • Manage and prepare award applications;
  • Travel within and outside of Canada
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree education in Communications, English, Literature or related studies
  • 5-8 years of experience within a communications role, ideally within a retail and/or manufacturing environment
  • Change Management certified
  • Experience and knowledge of PR, social media
  • Script writing experience, an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel
Demonstrated Skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills including copywriting and editing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French
  • Ability to think from the audience perspective and tailor messages to the intended audience
  • Proven experience in project coordination/management.
  • Capable of working well both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Autonomous, able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Time andamp; priority management
