Title: Data Science Manager
Reports to: Technical Director
The Data Science Manager will lead a team of data specialists to help the studio make business decisions based on known users' datas.
You will be responsible for organizing team activity and providing insights into consumer behavior using user and gaming data.
You have excellent SQL skills, and combine analytical skills and business acumen to provide Square-Enix Montreal's development teams with relevant data that will contribute to the success of our games.
Build the business intelligence structure to support the future of SEM;
Participate in strategic discussions and decision-making;
Work with the key actors of the game teams and the User Researcher Manager to ensure the usefulness of the information provided;
Understand priorities, measure and manage the work done by your team to support these priorities;
Define key indicators and identify opportunities for improving these indicators through rigorous analysis;
Lead processes, build reports, dashboards, ML models, design experiments to maximize observations while minimizing errors;
Remain on the lookout for any opportunity to use our data that can benefit the company;
Allow members of your team to develop their skills and advance their career goals.
Experiences & qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science or the like is required;
Masters or doctorate in these fields a plus
Three (3) years plus experience in managing and leading BI teams;
A first experience in liveops (game as a service is a plus);
Ideally three (3) years and more experience in the video game industry (mobile experience an asset);
Experience in creating a data-driven culture in business;
Strong understanding of various statistical techniques and machine learning;
Experience in creating and deploying machine learning models;
Experience in analyzing large volumes of data for multiple purposes in a dynamic environment.
Excellent SQL skills: extensive experience in querying large and complex datasetsExperience with decision support reporting tools such as Tableau and Looker;
Experience in creating automated tools and processes to extract and distill data in a procedural language such as Python or R;
Strong statistical skills;
Strong Machine Learning experience applied;
Extensive knowledge of data analysis techniques.
Capable of collaborating with people at all organizational levels;
Ability to simultaneously manage projects and manage fast delivery of requests;
Strong ability to motivate and develop skills in others;
Proactivity and resourcefulness;
