Job Summary

Position: Full-time, permanent (40 hours a week).

Our team goal is to provide reliable foundations for SherWeb’s entire offering so clients can enjoy our products worry-free. You will contribute to this go al by being responsible for the storage systems and the implementation of performance tests. Succeeding in this role involves ensuring at all times the performance and integrity of the storages systems by running updates and making the necessary improvements. To do this you will collaborate with the entire IT Infrastructure team.   

Here's what your day-to-day will look like in this role:  

  • Perform tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements regarding all aspects of our storage platform .  
  • Promote data storage retention policies through system procedures.  
  • Follow cha nge control, incident response and testing processes for modifications to storage appliances and software .  
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to and resolve issues with stor age devices, storage access, and data retrieval .  
  • Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for storage equipmen t performance, space allocation and data growth to recommend enhancements to the IT storage team .  
  • Develop, document and maintain operational processes and tasks .  
  • Actively stay informed on storage laws, trends, emerging technologies and best practices to advise management teams. 
  • Install and configure storage de vices and software .  
  • Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and for archiving to ensure effective the protection and integrity of storage appliances and data assets .  
  • Analyze and define the requirement s and needs of new services.  
  • Work on preventive maintenance.  
  • Participate to rotation calls.   

Here's what you need to master and know to get the job.  

If you have at least half, you have a great chance to receive a call from us.  

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in administration of various storage platform.  
  • Strong technical background in storage.  
  • Bilingualism (English /French).  
  • DEC in Computer Science or a combination of similar training and experience.  
  • Knowledge of one or more of these technologies is an asset:  
    • Dell Comp ellent , Powervault , DR Applicance  
    • EqualLogic, NetApp, 3PAR, EMC  
    • Brocade FC Switches  
    • Powershell  
    • Transact-SQL  
    • Virtualization technology ( Vmware / Hyper-V)  
    • Backup software: Veeam , Microsoft DPM, Acronis  
    • Microsoft System Center  
    • Fiber Channel, 10Gbe and iSCSI infrastructures  
    • SaaS services
