The Development Director will be responsible for end to end Quality Verification delivery of a New IP product being developed at Motive Montreal. Working with our teams across Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, and key Development partners, you will ensure the quality verification strategy is supported by the correct structure and skills, while building an effective organization focused on upstream bug prevention using tools and technology.
A as a senior member of the QV team reporting to the Motive QA Director, you will be an addition to the overall leadership team for this New IP and will provide your insight and experience (with a QA lens) on how we will deliver this project to quality.
What you’ll do:
Work with the QA Director and Studio leadership to define location specific objectives, QA strategies and ensure plans will deliver projects on time, quality and budget.
Build a robust QA plan for the product, integrating QA Analysts focused on Defect Prevention & Containment and Offsite QA, providing Blackbox test coverage as well as Beta testing.
Collaborate with Development to define the needs and build a solid Quality Engineering discipline to support the quality tool and automation needs for the project.
Establish methods for Grey/White box testing on appropriate features/tools.
Plan and execute pre-integration content testing strategies.
Champion “Player First” at all times and be an advocate for the player in everything we do.
Drive the use of Automation and Tools within QA.
Work to build capacity and budgetary requirements for QA covering staffing costs throughout the organization and maintain project cost tracking actuals and forecast.
Track existing and create new critical metrics to measure the project and the impact of process improvements and identify patterns and new solutions.
Balance the need for thorough testing with imperative for continuous iteration from our player during Live Service support.
What you bring:
University degree education in a relevant domain.
Proven track record with managerial experience.
AAA game experience in a QA leadership role with multiple titles is a major asset.
Strong Project Management and communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of software development and QA processes.
Be able to track multiple deliverables, between multiple sites and time zones, and rapidly change plans and process as needed to react to changing priorities.
