Job Summary

We are looking for an environment artist to contribute to 3D modeling, 2D texturing and environment design in engine. We want to recreate the unique feel of Montreal's streets, back-alleys and parks in detailed, story driven environments.

Our ideal candidate is someone who works well in small teams and wants to have a significant impact on a meaningful game.

About Impossible

Impossible is a small indie studio based in Montreal currently developing its first title, Été, an interactive experience exploring time and memory through impressionistic vignettes.

About Été

Fill a blank canvas with vivid memories as you explore the summer with ink, music and photographs. Wander into open city scenes, collect ephemera and meet charming characters as you unfold an immersive world filled with everyday wonders.

Responsibilities

  • Create static 3D models (props) following art direction and technical requirements
  • Create realistic textures for objects and environments from photo references or concept art
  • Work with the level designer to compose interior and exterior scenes in Unity

Qualifications

  • Experience as a 3D artist in the games industry
  • High level of proficiency in Maya or 3DS Max
  • Familiarity with real-time game development constraints (polycount, LOD, etc.)
  • Autonomy and initiative when working in small teams
  • Fluency in both English and French
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residence

Extras

  • Familiarity with Unity import pipeline and scene editing
  • Experience with shading, lighting and post-processing
  • Capacity for continuous improvement
  • Experience with Houdini
  • Interest for alternative games and art
