We are looking for a narrative designer with professional writing experience and an understanding of non-linear narrative structures. The chosen candidate will help shape the plot and setting of the game and advise on narrative-related design decisions.
Our ideal candidate is someone who works well in small teams and wants to have a significant impact on a meaningful game.
Impossible is a small indie studio based in Montreal currently developing its first title, Été, an interactive experience exploring time and memory through impressionistic vignettes.
Fill a blank canvas with vivid memories as you explore the summer with ink, music and photographs. Wander into open city scenes, collect ephemera and meet charming characters as you unfold an immersive world filled with everyday wonders.
Contribute to the high-level story structure and plot
Write scenes and dialogues
Assist with the casting of voice actors
Work alongside the creative director to implement the overall narrative vision
Work alongside the lead animator to bring narrative sequences to life
Shipped scripts for games, cinema, television, theatre or written fiction
Experience in non-fantasy setting for an adult audience
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in both English and French
Mastery of French
Experience with Twine or other interactive writing tools
Interest for alternative games and art
Entry-level technical knowledge of Unity is a plus
