For over 30 years, Aeroplan has been helping members get more value from their day-to-day interactions with leading brands while earning billions of Aeroplan miles. What started as a regular frequent flyer program is now Canada’s premier coalition loyalty program. With a community five-million members strong, Aeroplan now has 75 world class partners representing more than 150 brands in the financial, retail, and travel sectors, and more than 150 online retail partners via the Aeroplan eStore.


We continue to push the boundaries of travel rewards programs in Canada by providing a variety of flexible options: one-way flight rewards, ability to book up to two hours in advance, ability to cancel for a refund; ability to insure miles redeemed for flights; and, our members can redeem miles against taxes, fees, and surcharges when booking a flight reward.


As we seek to build the next generation of Aeroplan, we are committed to delivering a program that redefines rewards, preserving a competitive value redemption proposition for members with industry leading airlines.


Aimia is also building a team focused on new digital product creation. The intent is for a stand-alone, cross-disciplinary group to own a broad product innovation mandate:

  • Identifying potential market areas for new products
  • Conceptualizing product/market fit                                                                                            o   Experience-led differentiation                                                                                                o   Competitive positioning                                                                                                        o   Marketing opportunity sizing                                                                                                 o   Right and path to win
  • Building a business case to support funding exploration
  • Conducting design prototyping to better understand potential areas for product/market   fit based on user-centered findings
  • Developing product MVPs; rapidly iterating based on results
  • Scaling product successes through multiple phases of growth
  • Integrating products into Aimia’s overall portfolio of experiences serving 5+ million customers
