As a Live Events Lighting Programmer you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of live events, from setup to operation and teardown. You will work closely with our technical and production teams to deliver exceptional live experiences for our clients and their audiences. This role requires creative and technical expertise, attention to detail, and adaptability in fast-paced live event environments.
Main responsibilities :
Artistic & Creative :
Provide LX designs for our clients
Provide creative designs and solutions for clients.
Create, record, and back up documentation to a high standard.
Technical Setup and Operation :
Assist in setting up and operating technical equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during events to minimize disruptions.
Event Preparation :
Plan our LX installation through CAD plans
Collaborate with the production team to understand event requirements and logistics.
Conduct equipment checks and ensure all technical components are in working order before events.
Live Event Support :
Operate and control PixMob lighting equipment, following cues and scripts during live events.
Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain optimal quality.
Safety and Compliance :
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment during events.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent hazards.
Team Collaboration :
Work closely with technical and production teams to coordinate event logistics and provide support as required.
Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure smooth event execution.
Collaborate with the rest of your coworkers while onsite, helping as they face challenges to facilitate team collaboration.
Post-Event Duties :
Assist in the teardown and packing of equipment after events.
Participate in post-event debriefs and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications :
Technical certifications or training in live event production are a plus
3 - 5+ years previous experience in live event production, Lighting technology, or a related field is preferred.
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to operate audio, visual, and lighting equipment.
Experience with MA2 or MA3 Console
Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and software (e.g., soundboards, lighting control systems, projection systems).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in live event production.
Fluent in English and knowledge of French
Available to travel 50% of the time
Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English). The person must be able to communicate in English (written and oral) since we have employees outside Quebec.
