Vice President, Research and Development
Omniply is looking for a Vice President, Research and Development to oversee a team of scientists working on new materials of thin films and delamination technology used for fabricating the next generation of displays : flex OLEDs and microLED displays. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in material science, physics, or chemistry with experience in thin film science and inorganic coatings. The candidate would have demonstrated experience in leading and managing R&D development towards product commercialization.

Responsibilities :
Manage a team of material scientists. Update management and the company board of directors on various projects. Work with technical advisors and industry leaders to shape Omniply’s technology development and product roadmap. Create and secure intellectual property for Omniply. Lead R&D strategy for coatings development, interfacial adhesion properties optimization between multilayer inorganic thin films, and delamination equipment development. Establish project management and prioritization of all R&D development to meet customer deliverables and commercialization schedule. Work with customers to understand their requirements and organize internal projects to meet deliverable. In collaboration with eco-system partners, enable go-to-market strategy for flexible display and semiconductor applications. Willing and capable to do hands-on work with R&D teams. Effectively communicate the R&D vision to the Omniply technical staff. Enable team to document the results in comprehensive technical reports. Qualifications :
10+ years of industry experience or research in thin film materials with an experience in leading a technical team towards material innovation and commercialization. Ph.D or M.S. in material science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or related field with management experience required. Proven track record of leading and managing R&D teams working on various aspects of product development. Experience in semiconductor / microLED manufacturing is a plus. Experience in developing strategy to scale up technology towards product development. Experience in patent writing and filings. Knowledge of surface properties in multilayer films. Familiarity with thin film deposition techniques and metrology tools. Self-motivated and creative / innovation. Data-driven with strong documentation and reporting skills.
