Job Title : Chief Technology & Innovation Officer

Job Description : Omniply is looking for a Chief Technology & Innovation Officer to oversee a team of scientists working on new technologies for III-V semiconductor and uLED applications. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in III-V semiconductor material science and device physics. The candidate would have demonstrated experience in creating and implementing technology strategy plan and milestones towards commercialization of a technology based on market fit.

Desired Skills :

Experience growing and fabricating III-V semiconductor devices towards display, photonics or other related applications. First-hand experience with creating innovative products by evaluation product market fit, and developing strategy and direction to guide a technical team towards hitting technology and product milestones. Knowledgeable about innovation happening in the III-V semiconductor space and able to identify key high-impact areas.

Responsibilities :

  • Create company’s technology development strategy based on technology readiness and product-market fit evaluation
  • Identify and articulate key value propositions of technology to present to stakeholders
  • Guide technical team towards creating innovative and high-impact solutions in the III-V semiconductor space
  • Find collaborators to enable go-to-market strategy for microLED and III-V semiconductor solutions
  • Customer engagement for technology validation
  • Putting together advanced technology roadmap and development plans to meet product and market requirements
  • Help CEO to pitch to investors (help with fundraising, interacting with board and external stakeholders)

Qualifications :

  • Ph.D or M.S. in material science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or related field
  • 10+ years of industry experience or research in III-V semiconductor growth and device fabrication
  • 5+ years of VP or executive level experience managing research and development of new technology advancements, including incubating new innovations
  • Ability to understand the market needs and derive technology and product requirements statements
  • Strong experience in IP filling, IP portfolio management and strategy
  • Proven track record of creating innovative solution in the space and leading R&D team towards accomplishment of major milestones for product development
  • Experience in semiconductor / microLED manufacturing
  • Experience in developing strategy to scale up technology towards product commercialization
  • Trac-record of keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies in the field of photonics, microLEDs, III-V semiconductor devices, etc.
