About the role

We’re looking for a to join our growing team!

An integral part of the Corporate Communications department, the Translation team ensures that the tone, voice and values of Intact Financial Corporation are accurately reflected in translations across the organization, in both English and French.

As an English-to-French Translator, your work will have a big impact on the quality and consistency of the company’s internal and external communications. You will translate and revise various types of documents, including core and priority communications for partners such as Corporate Communications, executive management / leadership, Human Resources and our insurance teams. You will also perform terminological research and provide language consulting services to business partners to promote the correct use of French.

Location : Robert-Bourassa Blvd (Montreal)

What you’ll do here :

  • Translate texts from English to French in a variety of subject areas, including employee, broker and client communications, HR, marketing and insurance documents.
  • Revise translations done by team members and, if needed, those done by external providers.
  • Provide language consulting services to internal and external business partners and perform terminological research as needed.
  • Provide high-quality service and meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to translation memory and terminology databases.

What you bring to the table :

  • B.A. with specialization in Translation or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in translation; experience in the financial services and insurance industry would be a strong asset.
  • Member of OTTIAQ, ATIO or any other recognized association, an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of translation memory and terminology management software (MultiTrans Trados Studio, etc.), an asset.
  • Highly organized and proactive individual; self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Customer focus and attention to quality and detail
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
