Job Summary

We are looking for an IT System Administrator to handle the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. The System Administrator will also work with the rest of the IT team on technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to the IT department for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, cloud networks and virtualization.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Communicate with customers at all levels of technical and non-technical skill sets.
  • Monitoring Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and network segments for security threats.
  • Designing, installing, and upgrading data security systems.
  • Resolve reported tickets in a timely manner.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information Technology.
  • 1-3 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Experience using ITSM Ticketing tools (e.g. Freshservice) to manage and track incidents referred.
  • Effectively communicate and document procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to speak English and French (proficiency in other languages is an asset).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
