Position Overview
As our Senior Web + Visual Designer, you’ll be at the crossroads of user experience, interface design, and branding. You’ll partner with developers, project managers, and fellow designers to shape user journeys, design interfaces, and produce visually appealing assets for web, mobile, and beyond. From conducting user research to delivering pixel-perfect interfaces and brand collateral, you’ll help ensure every touchpoint aligns with client goals and brand stories.
What You’ll Do
User-Centred Design & Research
- Conduct usability research, A/B testing, and stakeholder interviews to inform design decisions and ensure user satisfaction.
- Translate findings into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
Branding & Graphic Design
- Develop brand identities, including logos, colour palettes, typography, iconography, and other visual components.
- Produce marketing and promotional assets (e.g., social media graphics, presentation templates, image treatments and print materials) that align with each brand’s unique personality.
UI & Interaction Design
- Design responsive interfaces and micro-interactions optimized for different devices and platforms.
- Incorporate motion design by creating and animating visuals in After Effects or similar for website asset creation, marketing materials, and case studies.
- Maintain design systems, style guides, and libraries to ensure visual consistency and coherence across projects.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs and maintain consistent user experiences.
- Present design concepts to clients and internal teams, actively gathering feedback and iterating on improvements.
- Communicate design rationale clearly and concisely to a variety of stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Exhibit strong presentation skills in English; French is considered a plus and can further enhance client and team collaboration.
Quality & Accessibility
- Advocate for industry best practices with accessibility in mind (WCAG, AODA).
- Stay current on emerging design trends, tools, and technologies, and share knowledge with the team.
