Position Overview
At Autodesk Informed Design, our mission is to help companies embrace Industrialized Construction through convergence of AEC and MFG.
As a UX Designer on the Informed Design team, you'll make it possible for our manufacturing customers to collaborate with building design customers and establish design guardrails for building products. You will help our customers design buildings with certainty to deliver faster, with higher quality and reduced waste. In your new role, you will collaborate with teams across our product ecosystem alongside your Product Management and Engineering partners.
We’re looking for someone who is confident in leading end-to-end designs in order to successfully launch new features and subsequent iterations, incorporate research to identify opportunity areas and validate ideas, and has a track record of driving design in complex problem spaces.
This position is remote-friendly and can be based anywhere in Canada.

Responsibilities
- Partner with product managers, engineers and other designers to define great experiences from initial concept through successful implementation.
- Visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity including high-level wireframes, conceptual designs, design presentations and detailed specifications.
- Collaborate closely with one or more remote teams, working iteratively to deliver customer value.
- Facilitate working sessions with your team to generate ideas and evaluate possibilities.
- Define customer insights collection to understand user behavior and utilize them to help inform business and design decisions.
- Help to facilitate and participate in user research like interviews and usability testing to validate workflows, concepts & designs and make iterative improvements.
- Contribute to efforts to create scalable experience design standards and improve design processes.
- Champion the product in various trade shows and present feature sets and future roadmap plans in webinars to future customers.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of related professional experience.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas to their essence.
- Demonstrable experience utilizing a variety of human-centered design methods and best practices.
- Experience leveraging research and data to inform design decisions, and comfortable defining performance metrics to measure results.
- Experience running user research - interviews, ethnography, user testing, etc.
- Comfortable in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders across multiple time zones, and can adjust to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA / BS or graduate degree in HCI, interaction design, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with agile software design methods.
- Experience supporting a complex ecosystem with multiple products and platforms.
- Comfortable working on a distributed team and collaborating remotely.
- Experience with one of Autodesk's desktop design software.
