Your Role

As the Technical Lead DevOps Engineer of a Cloud Infrastructure team, you will be designing, orchestrating, and delivering secure, reliable, and scalable Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions to enable the execution of our internal customers’ Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) Jenkins Pipelines on hyperscalers such as GCP, Azure, and SAP’s Converged Cloud. As the Cloud Infrastructure team behind SAP Commerce Cloud’s CI / CD pipelines, you will be working with a variety of teams globally to enable SAP Commerce business solutions.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalence through the combination of your curriculum and experience.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English is required.

Expectations and Tasks

As Technical Lead, you will:

  • Work with an Agile team working on a hybrid Scrum and Kanban model.
  • Work at flexible times to effectively collaborate with team members in different time zones (such as EST, CST, and IST) with Montreal as the main base of operations.
  • Have the opportunity to use the latest open-source technologies to design, implement, and maintain a secure, reliable, and highly available infrastructure.
  • Have ownership over making decisions for and with your team.
  • Be responsible for implementation, knowledge sharing, organization of all relevant tasks, and internal communications.

The team also provides on-call support to ensure that the infrastructure is always available.

We expect strong experience in the following areas:

  • Linux administration
  • Network architecture and troubleshooting
  • Container orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, Gardener)
  • Coding and scripting languages (e.g. Go, Python, Bash)
  • Containerization tools (e.g. Docker, Podman, Kaniko)
  • Hyperscaler platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Platform, Azure, SAP Converged Cloud)
  • Cloud policy compliance and tools (e.g. OPA Gatekeeper)
  • Continuous Integration (CI) (e.g. Jenkins, MegaLinter, Tekton)
  • Continuous Delivery (CD) (e.g. ArgoCD)
  • Secrets management (e.g. Vault)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi)
  • Kubernetes tools (e.g. Helm, Kustomize, KubeApps)
  • Monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g. Prometheus and exporters, Thanos, Grafana, Loki, InfluxDB)
  • Service Meshing tools (e.g. Linkerd, Istio)

Pay Transparency

SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 104,400 - 214,300 CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount, and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
