This position can be based out of our Collingwood, Barrie or Guelph office.The successful candidate will be responsible for completing mechanical engineering designs and projects serving a range of sectors including but not limited to Commercial, Institutional, Industrial, and Municipal Buildings. These projects involve multiple systems such as HVAC, domestic water, sanitary and storm drainage, building automation and fire protection systems. Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations are required to complete these projects. Work assignments may include design of mechanical systems for buildings, condition assessments of existing systems, report writing, performing site inspections, and providing direction to contractors.The successful candidate will also be responsible for mentoring junior staff, project management and business development, and collaborating on multi-disciplinary projects with clients, architects, and other design team members.Key Position Requirements : P.Eng. in the Province of OntarioA degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineMinimum of 10-15 years of mechanical engineering experience in the consulting industryWorking knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, and associated standards including ASHRAE, CSA and NFPA.Detailed engineering experience with mechanical systems including preparation of calculations and reports, equipment selection, and design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems.Experience preparing specifications for equipment and associated systemsProficiency in AutoCAD softwareFull knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with REVIT would be an assetExperience with decarbonization and energy efficiency retrofits would be an assetExperience with business development would be an assetStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent technical and analytical skillsEnthusiasm to work in a team structure and a willingness to guide, help and collaborate with othersHow to ApplyClick the “Apply Now” button below and follow the instructions to create your account.
