Fasken is seeking an experienced lawyer to join our Knowledge and Practice Innovation team as an integrated member of our Capital Market and Mergers & Acquisitions (CMMA) practice, with a focus on corporate finance and public M&A. The Knowledge and Practice Innovation lawyer will contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives that will meet the knowledge and practice innovation needs of our Firmwide CMMA group. The successful candidate will lead the development of critical practice resources, implement effective solutions and market best practices to improve the delivery of legal services, and work side-by-side with members of the Practice Group through hands on practice support. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their expertise and is keen to build a knowledge program that contributes to the overall success of the Firm's CMMA practice.
The candidate will report to the heads of the Practice Group and the firmwide Partner, Knowledge and Practice Innovation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop strategies, translate objectives into plans, and implement solutions to increase effectiveness and efficiency in the Practice Group.
- Create and maintain model documents, precedents, checklists, data points, toolkits, and other substantive content related to corporate finance and public M&A.
- Stay at the forefront of industry and regulatory developments, sharing key information with members of the group and serving as a source of legal, market and practical expertise.
- Provide practice support and respond to ad hoc enquiries from lawyers with on-point, thorough and timely answers.
- Identify and lead initiatives for the development of education and training programs.
- Work with team members to enhance the delivery of legal services through automation, productized services, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
- Establish processes for the group to track and capture matter information in the Firm's experience management system.
- Ensure that the knowledge resources are leveraged by the group and are organized and easily accessible through the Firm's Knowledge Bank and other content sharing platforms.
