About the Role

HireOn is recruiting on behalf of a leading technology company specializing in broadcast and media systems. We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Designer (ST2110) to join our client’s hardware design team in Montreal. This is a permanent, onsite opportunity offering the chance to work on cutting-edge solutions in the video and audio broadcasting industry.

As an FPGA Designer, you will be a cornerstone in the architecture, development, and implementation of advanced FPGA-based solutions for professional media streaming, with a strong focus on ST2110 and HD-SDI video standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of FPGA-based systems tailored for video / audio broadcasting applications.

Optimize FPGA architectures to enhance video processing and ensure precise audio synchronization.

Collaborate on electronic design and PCB layout associated with FPGA systems.

Perform simulation, debugging, and thorough verification of FPGA designs to meet high performance and industry standards.

Experience Requirements

Experience : Minimum 2 years, Maximum 10 years

Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA design

Hands-on experience with simulation tools (e.g., Questa)

Proficiency with development environments such as Xilinx Vivado or Altera Quartus

Strong debugging capabilities with tools like logic analyzers

Experience with media streaming standards such as ST2110 and video protocols like HD-SDI

Familiarity with high-speed interfaces : PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, USB

Understanding of communication protocols : SPI, I2C, UART, CAN

Language Requirement :

Fluency in both French and English is mandatory – spoken and written. This is essential for internal team collaboration and client communication in the Quebec region.

Compensation Benefits

Salary Range : CAD $90,000 – CAD $140,000
