Principal, Internal Communication and Employee Experience

We are looking for a seasoned internal communication and employee experience professional to join our Human Resources team as Principal.

You will be responsible for creating internal communication strategies in collaboration with the human resources, marketing, and management teams as well as key parties involved.

You will execute plans to ensure that internal communication initiatives are implemented effectively and support Normandin Beaudry’s business strategy.

Other responsibilities include developing internal communications related to talent management, diversity and inclusion, community, innovation, group benefits, wellness programs, compensation, engagement, culture, and organizational transformation.

You’ll help convey information and produce memorable moments to enrich the experience of our talents throughout their journey.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief of Human Resources and Administrative Services, you will have the following responsibilities:

Key responsibilities

  • Develop strategies and implement innovative internal communication tactics and messages that will engage employees.
  • Act as an internal communication specialist to define, execute and evaluate communication and change management strategies so as to deploy priority projects and organizational transformations.
  • Make recommendations to strengthen our employer brand awareness.
  • Contribute to writing a wide range of content for videos, internal messages, emails, executive meetings, staff events, internal articles, presentations, and speeches.
  • Manage internal news and content feed of various communication channels such as SharePoint, LinkedIn, web platforms, email, etc.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication plans, propose optimization solutions and promote continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with managers to ensure internal messaging is aligned with corporate strategies as well as communication and change management priorities.
  • Monitor best practices in communication and employee experience and propose new tools.
  • Coordinate efforts with the marketing team for various communication methods (internal and external channels, digital materials, social networks, web, cell phones, corporate and special events, etc.).

Required qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have a bachelor’s degree in communication, human resources or a related field, combined with at least 10 years of experience in a similar position focused on internal communications.

Abilities

  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English is required, as you will be frequently in contact with English-speaking clients.
  • Experience in consulting services (major asset).
  • Strong writing, project management, change management and content creation skills.
  • Experience with social media, intranets, the Internet or any other technological medium.
  • Inclusive, influential and inspiring leadership style that rallies team members around common goals.
  • Strategic problem-solving approach; ability to identify potential reputational risks.
  • Ability to think and communicate clearly, to express a coherent point of view on complex issues and to write concise and engaging content.
  • Sound judgment.
