IT Operations Leader

IT Operations Manager Direct Hire Hybrid : Montreal, Quebec H3A 2Z7, CanadaMust be fluent in French and English Pay : $160-$175k CAD Purpose of the Role Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the Operations Director will oversee and manage the 24 x 7 operations for information technology systems as well as for developing and maintaining an operations roadmap with the goal of ensuring systems are operated efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities ▪ Ensure that operation policies and procedures in order to meet compliance requirements under regulatory requirements.▪ Ensure timely resolution of problems.▪ Participate in project planning for technology related initiatives.▪ Recommend and coordinate the implementation of operational tools.▪ Oversee the creation and maintenance of operational policies and procedures.▪ Ensure the IT inventory, systems and tools as well as operations documentation are kept up to date.▪ Manage data center capacity and usage.▪ Plan and prioritise the Operations team’s work ensuring effective support for day-to-day operations and ongoing projects.▪ Monitor capacity and raise concerns before they result in issues. ▪ Liaise with management when production problems occur.▪ Represent IT operations in audits.▪ Keep up to date on operational tools to improve monitoring and efficiency.Knowledge and Experience ▪ 10+ years of experience in a similar role. A University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields.▪ Strong experience in leading and managing a multidisciplinary operations team.▪ Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure such as data networks, firewalls, servers, data centers, operating systems, etc.▪ Good understanding of scripting (Python, Powershell, etc.)▪ Good understanding of infrastructure monitoring and automated alerting, project management principles, and information security.▪ Experience working with vendors.▪ Positive attitude and the ability to foster a collective ownership of operational tasks and projects.▪ Enjoys working in a mission critical production environment.
