Your role and responsibilities

The Products Marketing & Communication Manager is responsible for developing and executing local marcom plans for the Canadian market of the assigned business line’s product groups, segments and solutions, that are aligned with business goals, industry Products goals and overall strategy of ABB Electrification.

The person in this position will serve as a trusted colleague and partner to the relevant industry Products leads, local Business Line management team and Product Market Managers, as well as local marketing and sales colleagues as required.

He / She will manage and lead the team of ELSPSB marketing, events and digital marketing and must be in relentless pursuit of determining where our customers perceive value and help our Product Groups align their value proposition with the customers’ buying criteria.

Ultimately, the person filling this role will work continuously to develop and sell value propositions that increase awareness, engagement and drive sales.

  • Develop and execute local Smart Power and Smart Buildings Products marcom strategy and activities that align with Industry Products and business line goals and broad ABB strategy.
  • Localize global content or create content when needed to support campaigns globally, including value propositions, copywriting, press releases, webinars, success stories, internal articles, flyers, brochures, catalogs, video scripts, interviews, advertisements, social media and online contents and posters.
  • Drive digitalization of appropriate business unit and segments working alongside digital team to lead and support the development of digital selling tools and applications.
  • Actively research and forecast events / initiatives to drive awareness around the ABB brand in your area of responsibility (e.g., industry summits, events, publications, etc.).
  • Drive product launching campaign along with Product Managers.
  • Serve as the business lead for events related to the required business line for local Canadian events, including on-site support if needed.
  • Responsible for coordination and harmonization of the communication material according to Business requirements / guidelines.
  • Drive the creation of all marketing collateral including definition of common templates (e.g., ordering pages, etc.), ensure proper English and French usage.
  • Collaborate with key functions including the global Marketing comms, sales and marketing and customer experience to support the development of effective materials for target audience.
  • Collaborate with all related internal contacts to ensure alignment, efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of the commercial strategy.
  • Offer new and innovative ideas to reach target customers, respectively challenging historical activities and status quo.
  • Work with Country Communicators to ensure local business communication plans and campaigns are aligned with the global marketing communications strategies, plans and campaigns.
  • Develop and manage effective, timely and relevant internal communications for sales channels.
  • Ensure message (e.g., value propositions) and branding compliance and consistency.

Qualifications for the role

  • University degree.
  • More than 5 years of industry experience in relevant marketing communication positions, including industry experience and project management.
  • Appreciation for working in international environments (strong intercultural skills).
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills, able to simplify complex technical contents into appealing marketing messages and contents.
  • Bilingual French and English. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
