POSITION OVERVIEW

The Vice President of Events, Partnerships and Field Marketing is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the company’s growth through innovative event management, strategic partnerships, and effective field marketing initiatives.

This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record in creating and executing high-impact events, identifying, developing, and fostering strong partnerships and relationships, and leading dynamic field marketing strategies.

The VP leads a team of experienced regional and national partnerships and marketing managers in addition to events specialists guided by the desire to build positive relationships with organizations and memorable experiences for clients and future clients.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for events, partnerships, and field marketing that aligns to BDC’s overall marketing and business objectives.
  • Identify and leverage strategic partnerships increasing BDC’s awareness and visibility, advising the executive team on key strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee a solid governance around the bank’s partnership management practice and maintain a 360 view of all partners at BDC.
  • Build a regional partnership strategy in support of the regional priorities for enabling BDC to deliver more financing, investment and advice in collaboration with not-for-profits, membership organizations, associations, and regional financial institutions.
  • Work collaboratively with other BDC functions to develop and maintain positive relationships in diverse and underserved communities across Canada.
  • Lead the development and planning of sponsorship programs aligned with BDC's brand and business development objectives in its various markets.
  • Provide direction for the proper management of internal and external events to ensure smooth operation and maximize exposure (i.e., Small Business Week, webinars, etc.).
  • Oversee the planning and execution of results-driven multichannel marketing campaigns that support BDC’s brand building and lead generation across the country.
  • Work with the business leadership team to identify, develop and implement all appropriate marketing communications strategies and programs to achieve national and regional objectives.
  • Lead the development of performing marketing materials across all channels including emails, apps, presentations, videos, etc.
  • Ensure alignment of marketing campaigns with other communications initiatives to maximize impact (advertising, lead generation, public relations, event planning).
  • Oversee the development and negotiation of effective partnership agreements including KPIs and terms of collaboration.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of events, partnerships, and field marketing initiatives.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize strategies and tactics.
  • Lead and mentor teams of high-performing individuals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related disciplines.
  • Fifteen years of business experience, with a minimum of seven years in a senior management role.
  • Extensive experience in event management, partnerships, and field marketing.
  • Delivered high-impact partnership results with experience at developing and negotiating partnership and sponsorship agreements.
  • Highly effective relationship building skills including interpersonal networking; ability to leverage and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Critical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Impeccable business judgement.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in both official languages (English and French).
