Senior Underwriter

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Underwriter to join our team!

What You'll Do

• Evaluate creditworthiness and risk for small to medium-sized business clients applying for financing.
• Analyze financial statements, bank statements, credit reports, and other supporting documentation to make informed funding decisions.
• Structure deals that align with our risk appetite while supporting client needs.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a smooth and transparent funding process.
• Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvement across the underwriting department.
• Help maintain and develop internal underwriting guidelines and best practices.
• Make timely, accurate, and consistent credit decisions while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
• Play an active role in a tight-knit, collaborative team focused on quality, efficiency, and impact.

What You Bring

• 3–5+ years of underwriting experience in a commercial or alternative lending environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial health and identify potential risks.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with a firm grasp of risk-based lending.
• Familiarity with the Canadian SMB landscape is a strong asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you’ll be working closely with multiple departments.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling company environment.
• A team player mindset, with a willingness to mentor and support others.
